Know your RC car's ride height
Ride height, also called ground clearance, is the gap between the underside of the chassis and the setup surface when the car is resting on its suspension. It is different from droop, which describes how far the suspension can extend downward. A small change in ride height can affect how the chassis clears the track and how the car responds, so it is worth measuring rather than guessing by eye.
Use a level setup surface and check the front and rear ride height consistently as you tune. Recording a measurement gives you a repeatable baseline, making it easier to compare changes between runs and return to a setup you liked. The Team Powers Ride Height Gauge is listed with a 3.8–7.5 mm measuring range for low-clearance RC setups.
